SCOPE, KRUI 89.7, the University of Iowa Museum of Art and Mission Creek Art and Music Festival are pleased to announce The Cool Kids. This concert is a part of the annual Mission Creek Festival which will place in Iowa City April 1st - 5th, and KRUI's 25th anniversary celebration. The Chicago-based, retro-rap duo consists of Antoine "Mikey Rocks" Reed and Evan "Chuck Inglish" Ingersol. Rolling Stone named The Cool Kids as one of its ten artists to watch in 2008 and the band has since gone from an underground sensation to opening for M.I.A. and having their song, "Mikey Rocks," featured on the hit comedy Entourage. With their retro-electro beats and influences of 1980's and 1990's rap, The Cool Kids have earned the title of "the black Beastie Boys." The Cool Kids will perform at Iowa Memorial Union Ballroom on Saturday, April 4th at 10pm. This show is FREE and open to the public.
