SCOPE Productions has the pleasure of announcing that Survivor and Eric Hutchinson will be performing at The University of Iowa’s 2011 Homecoming concert on October 21st on the lawn of the Pentacrest. The show will begin immediately following the Homecoming parade. This is a free show open to the general public.

Comparable to the 80s rock sound of Kansas and REO Speedwagon, Survivor embodies the spirit of uplifting, feel-good rock and roll. Achieving fame and acclaim from theme songs like “Eye of the Tiger” from Rocky III and “The Moment of Truth” from The Karate Kid, Survivor is one act that will have families reminiscing as they sing along. From their conception in 1977 to more recent Greatest Hits albums in 2009, Survivor has remained near and dear to the hearts of American rock lovers everywhere.

Eric Hutchinson will warm up the stage for Survivor, performing immediately following the Homecoming parade. Hutchinson is most recognized for his tune “Rock & Roll” and will delight families, alumni and students alike with his exceptional brand of sunshine pop. His 2008 album “Sounds Like This” has been praised for it’s “buoyant, thoughtful, soulful, and jazzy” elements. Equipped with his versatile pop sound, Hutchinson’s piano, guitar, and songwriting skills will be on display for all those in attendance of the Homecoming concert, acting as a perfect compliment to the classic rock sound of Survivor.
