Formerly of indie bands Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown, Spencer Krug’s latest band, Moonface, is making his way to The Mill this winter. Moonface’s mysterious and self-reflexive persona was crafted as an outlet for his dark pop and melodious experiments. The album on tour is “Julia With the Blue Jeans On”, and it portrays themes of raw human emotion driven by love and intimacy. The album consists primarily of voice and piano, revealing the beautiful classical undertones created by Moonface in tracks like “Love The House You’re In”. Moving from Montreal to Finland, and now gracing Iowa City with his musicianship, music fans of all genres will not want to miss out on Moonface. His matchless talent is guaranteed to amaze and turn passive listeners into dedicated fans.
