Hawks Nest and SCOPE Productions proudly present radio sensation Mike Posner at the third annual Hawkapalooza in Hubbard Park on Thursday, September 1st. This annual FREE event will honor Hawkeye athletics through a pep rally, food from local vendors, and a concert. Hawkapalooza 2011 will begin at 7pm and is FREE to all students and the general public.

Mike Posner offers a captivating blend of pop and hip-hop that was initially born out of his dorm room at Duke University. Posner built a solid following through tours and mixtapes while still working toward his college degree. The unique elements of his voice and production style have made Billboard Hot 100 hits like “Cooler Than Me” and “Please Don’t Go” stand out as exemplary tracks. Fresh off his 2010 single “Bow Chicka Wow Wow” featuring Lil Wayne and his guest vocals on a remix of the Adele track “Rolling in the Deep,” Hawks Nest and SCOPE Productions are thrilled to bring this talent to the University of Iowa.

Also, Hawks Nest will host a Free Hawkapalooza Sports Fair from 12:00 – 2:00 in Hubbard Park on September 1. Students are invited to test their fast ball in a speed pitch cage, play volleyball, corn hole, and putt-putt – there will also be a dunk tank! Attendees will have the chance to win Hawkapalooza shirts, Coca Cola products, gift certificates from various venues in Iowa City as well as free food provided by some favorite Iowa City establishments!
