SCOPE Productions and RiverFest have the pleasure of announcing that MATT NATHANSON will be performing an acoustic set at the IMU Ballroom, on Sunday, April 25th at 7:30 PM. This show will be the closing show of RiverFest, a 5-day concert and arts festival held April 21-25.

After a few years of honing his live show -- both headlining and opening for artists such as Tori Amos, John Mayer, Pink, Guster and OAR -- Nathanson took a detour into the major label ranks for the ambitious Beneath These Fireworks in 2003 yielding the hits “Bent” and “Curve of the Earth”. His 6th album Some Mad Hope released in August of 2007 has produced the platinum selling single “Come On Get Higher” and hits “Still” and “Car Crash”. Some Mad Hope peaked on the Billboard 200 at #60, and peaked at #3 on the Top Independent Albums.

In the past two years alone, Nathanson has played over 250 live shows, selling out rooms across the country. He performed on the Late Show with David Letterman and Ellen in 2009. Nathanson’s acoustic sound and poetic lyrics created his huge grassroots following and dedicated fan base.

Tickets for the concert go on sale at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 5th and can be purchased at University of Iowa Box Office, located in the IMU, and all other Ticketmaster locations. Tickets will be $18.50 for students and $24.50 for the general public. This is a general admission seated show.
