HOMECOMING 2016: Simple Plan with Wavves

IOWA CITY- SCOPE Productions is excited to announce that Simple Plan with opener Wavves will be performing on the Pentacrest lawn Friday, September 30, 2016.

This event is free and open to the public and will commence following the Homecoming Coronation. Coronation will begin after the Homecoming Parade at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Simple Plan

Formed in 1999, the well known Canadian pop rock, alternative rock and punk band, Simple Plan, released their first album No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls back in 2002, which became a multi-platinum album in Canada and the United States. To this day, No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls, is the band's best selling album. The pop-rock heros latest album, Taking One For The Team, was released early this year and is in the top 10 hits and the #1 album in over 10 countries. AllMusic reviewed this album as “pure, no-frills, feel-good fun, a start-to-finish crowed pleaser”. The publication Redbrick claims that “you’ll be head-banging and rocking out for hours on end”. The band has been given countless praise and continuous acclamation from many music and entertainment reviewers. This Fall marks Simple Plans Taking One For The Team Tour, the first set of concerts to be played in America in over three years by the band. Simple Plan is ready to rock Iowa City, giving the community once in a lifetime experience for the 2016 University of Iowa homecoming concert.



Wavves is an American rock band, based in San Diego, California. Formed in 2008 by singer-songwriter Nathan Williams the band also features Alex Gates, Stephen Pope, and Brian Hill.
