Hippo Campus

St. Paul, Minnesota natives Jake Luppen, Nathan Stocker, Zach Sutton, and Whistler Allen formed Hippo Campus after meeting at the St. Paul Conservatory for the Performing Arts and released their first two EP’s, Bashful Creatures and South. Following their first release, the band went on to perform at Lollapalooza and Red Rocks with the likes of Modest Mouse and My Morning Jacket.

This year, Hippocampus released their first full-length album Landmark in February to favorable reviews, being described as “loaded with thickly cushioned ambience, billowy melodies and concisely written songs” by Chris Riemenschneider of the Star Tribune. The album’s supporting tour has taken them from First Avenue Minneapolis, to South by Southwest performances including a sold-out showcase with producer DJ Esco and rapper Danny Brown. The band looks to continue their support of the new album with performances nationwide, including Bonnaroo Music Festival, and internationally in the U.K. and Europe.
