  • Date: April 4, 2013
  • Location: The Englert Theatre

Part of Mission Creek Festival

Grizzly Bear has been described by Rolling Stone as “one of indie rock's most sophisticated songwriting teams.”  The Brooklyn-based quartet has released four albums in its 11-year history, performing in venues as diverse as the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Lollapalooza music festival, and Radio City Music Hall.  Grizzly Bear’s latest release, 2012’s Shields, is the band’s most fluid album to date.  As one Pitchfork review of the album states, Shields combines “baroque, detail-rich production” and an “emotionally resonant core” to create one of the most eloquent indie rock albums of recent history.

The show is all ages and will take place at The Englert Theatre on Thursday, April 4, 2013. Doors open at 7 pm, and the show will begin at 8 pm. Tickets for this show go on sale Friday, February 1 at 12 pm and are available for UBill or purchase at The Hub (located at 138 Iowa Memorial Union) or at The Englert Theatre box office located at 221 East Washington Street open 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. All-Access Passes ($125) for Mission Creek will be available for purchase online at Midwestix and The Englert Theatre Box Office starting Tuesday, January 22 at noon. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to call (319) 335-3395 for special seating accommodations. Learn more about the Mission Creek Festival at
