The Deep Cuts

I think this playlist is a good peek into a sphere of music I listen to a lot. I tend to gravitate towards female vocalists with experimental and/or smooth instrumentals. I don’t look for explicitly low-spirited nor energetic music—I like to vibe, period. This playlist weaves through James K, Arca, John Cale, and Samba-Jean Baptiste, little bit of everything. I listen to discover, not staying put for long, this playist is a good representation of that :P

Favorite Concert Experience

Will have to say seeing Eartheater in Chicago for her Crushing Tour in 2023. I just stood in awe of her the entire show. She also broke a wine glass with her voice, an actual Siren.

Obsession on Air on KRUI 89.7 FM, Mondays 11 am-noon! Enjoy playing tennis, cooking fish, and watching movies. Also, shoutout to some local groups investing in our community that I am proud to be apart of: Prairielands Freedom Fund and Iowa City Mutual Aid.
