Hailing from Los Angeles, Best Coast makes California proud with thier down-to-earth attitude and vintage surf rock sound. Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno create infectiously toe-tappable songs about everything from crushes to the beach to the love of a pet cat. The band’s distinctive sun-kissed SoCal vibe is inspired by garage rock and 1960s girl-group pop, with Cosentino’s sweet, sassy vocals perfectly complementing fuzzy, reverb-tickled guitar licks.
This show is presented by SCOPE Productions and KRUI at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 27th, 2013. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the show will begin at 7 p.m. The show will take place at the beautiful and historic First United Methodist Church, which features intricate stained glass windows and a gorgeous, intimate acoustic environment, and it’s sure to be an amazing sensory experience that no music fan will want to skip. The church is located at 214 East Jefferson Street, conveniently close to downtown Iowa City and the University of Iowa campus.
Tickets go on sale Friday, March 8th at 12p.m., and can be purchased at The Hub box office located on the first floor of the Iowa Memorial Union where students can U-Bill up to eight tickets, or at all Ticketmaster locations.
