RESCHEDULED TO MAY 6TH. Hip hop's rising star, Kendrick Lamar, has no intention of slowing down. In 2011 Kendrick broke onto the scene with his debut album Section .80. Now dubbed "The New King of the West Coast" by legendary hip hop artist Dr. Dre, Lamar recently released good kid, m.A.A.d. city on Dre's Aftermath records. The album has soared to the top of Billboard charts and is praised as one of the year's best.
Chance the Rapper will be the opening act. This 19-year-old rapper from Chicago first debuted on hip-hop blog Fake Shore Drive with a video for his track “Nostalgia.” He has since released his mix tape “10 Day” and has joined the SaveMoney collective group of hip-hop artists in Chicago along with Kids These Days, Caleb James, and Kami de Chukwu. Recently he released the video for his new track “Juice” to be featured on his next mix tape “Acid Rap.”
Chance and Kendrick will be grace the stage of the Main Lounge infront of a sold out crowd. The show has been recheduled from Monday, April 1 to Monday, May 6th. The concert will still take place at the IMU Main Lounge, with doors at 6 p.m. and the show beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets printed with the original date will be honored at the door on the rescheduled date.
