SCOPE Position: Hospitality Director
Hi everyone!! My name is Nicole Zatz, and I am the Hospitality Director for SCOPE this year. I am going on my second year in this organization, and I can’t believe it’s my last! There’s a running joke in the org that hosp is the “most fun” job, and honestly… I can’t deny it. With the fun of getting a lot of one-on-one time with artists, there comes the responsibility of making sure they feel comfortable, respected, and appreciated when doing a show for us. Ultimately I take care of things like green room set-up, catering food DOS, and other hospitable related tasks.
Switching gears a bit—this org, along with every single person in it have inspired me in numerous aspects of my life. I am so grateful to be a part of SCOPE, and produce rockin shows with like minded, passionate individuals!
Three Favorite Albums:
This is never easy to answer, but at the moment:

- Juno by Remi Wolf
- Future Me Hates Me by The Beths

Favorite Concert Experience:
My Favorite concert experience was going to see Billy Joel at Wrigley Field back in 2017. What made this so special was my good friend and our two moms went together. When we arrived, a guy walked up to us (one of Joel’s stage managers) and to our surprise we all got moved up to the second row! I thought it was so cool how he let the crowd pick his less popular songs to sing and afterwards he sang all of his greatest hits. The icing on the cake was getting to hear one of my favorite songs, Vienna. Let me tell you it left me speechless. This concert is absolutely one of the highlights of my life.
Hobbies/Interests/Fun Facts/Campus Involvement:
Other than Scope, I work in an Event Tech Management position with a content/event based travel company, and try to get involved with local nonprofits. Some of my other interests include traveling, going to concerts and writing/journaling. I also enjoy being with friends and family, cooking, painting, and really just love having a creative outlet of some sort!
The Deep Cuts:
So I attempted to hit all the aspects of my music taste with this playlist, which is chaotic to say the least. I am the type of person who listens to music, or makes playlists based on however I am feeling. I know some people don’t think that (blank and blank… should be on the same playlist together; we can agree to disagree. My love for music started to grow at a young age. I grew up playing piano, dancing and other music related extracurriculars. My mom is a typical classic rock fanatic—Alanis Morissette and Kid Rock loving, kind of gal.
My music taste really started to open up in college when I rediscovered this old passion of mine. Anything from Indie pop, psychedelic rock, and pretty much anything you can label as Alternative is under my umbrella along with many more. One song I have had on repeat recently is “Rivers and Roads” by The Head and the Heart. I think it's because I have been feeling extra nostalgic recently with graduation right around the corner. On this playlist you will find songs of that similar nostalgia vibe, some new music I’ve been into recently, and songs I’ve held close since I can remember. Hope you all enjoy it!
