The Deep Cuts
It’s tricky to pinpoint exactly what comprises my music taste, especially for playlists, but to prevent any sort of performative spirit, I opted to create a list of songs I find myself constantly coming back to. Of course I enjoy discovery, but outside of any sort of restricted temporal zone—being a kid, now, and the runs of time in between—these tunes have all been well-established platinums on repeat. I divided up the playlist into sections, if you will, to try (although daunting and infeasible) to cover the bases of the different sonic moods I switch between. Hope you enjoy! Stay weird out there -Simon

Favorite Concert Experience
I’ve got to say my favorite experience by far was seeing Björk live. She’s got this magnificent off-putting vibe to her. She sang in a hut, had four different costume changes, had an entire choir wear insect-like masks, used water as percussion, etc., and I was entranced the entire time. Although pricey, and she tends to avoid performing in the United States (fair), I highly recommend seeing her if you ever get the chance. The way she bends music theory to her will is quite admirable, and she does it so soothingly in a sultry yet innocent way. 10’s across the board for my girl.
Hobbies / Interests / Fun Facts / Campus Involvement
Recently, I’ve been huge into vintage watch repair (hit my line for horology needs), but love love creating, with my favorite medium being poetry, but I do dabble in music production, and my most frequent extracurricular passion is cooking. Outside of SCOPE, you should be able to locate me in the Pomerantz Center, as I have two jobs based there. The one fun fact I’m choosing to share is I’m semi-fluent in Japanese. The end!
