This year SCOPE Production is teaming up once again with Hancher Auditorium to host the highly anticipated Fall Welcome Concert. All are welcome and encouraged to join the free event on the Hancher lawn and listen to the funky, blues, rock tunes of the band Goose on August 28th to enjoy the genre lending sounds of Goose.
Opening for Goose that evening will be a performance by the Hawkeye Drumline that you don't want to miss.

Goose, originally from a town in Connecticut, features members Rick Mitarotonda (vocals and guitar), Peter Anspach (vocals, keys, and guitar), Trevor Weekz (bass) and Cotter Ellis (drums). Since starting the band back in 2014, they have learned to build an indie rock sound with upbeat rhythms and improvisation. Their music incorporates sounds of funk, blues, and jazz. The band has grown to the fame they have now from the relentless touring and a supportive fan base throughout the years.
The band’s latest album, Everything Must Go, was released in April 2025, marks a new era for the band as they explore new sounds. The songs have been written recently from the band, capturing their life with the evolving tones. The record showcases recently written tracks that reflect the band’s personal growth and expanding musical landscape. If you enjoy artists like Daniel Donato, Dangermuffin, or Eggy, than Goose is the definitely the band for you.
Their past work has put the band in the spotlight they have now. The year 2022 was a major year for the group as the release of their third LP, Driplifted, put them on Billboard's charts. The band climbed to #2 on Billboard's "Top New Artists Albums". Alongside this they received credit from Rolling Stones and other major music publications.
Touring has had a major impact on the band. Their dynamic live shows have sold-out some of the nation’s most iconic venues including Radio City Music Hall, Red Rocks Amphitheater, Forest Hills Stadium, and even headlining Madison Square Garden. Now, they are kicking off their fall tour in Iowa City, making this Fall Welcome Concert a can’t miss campus event. Starting on August 28th Hancher Auditoriums student sale, Hancher is for Hawkeyes, begins. These are deep discounts in many Hancher performances. The sale includes $5 for select performances and 50% discount on student tickets to select Broadway performances. Shows were announced on July 9th. Sales will run from August 28th to September 2nd.
