Favorite concert experience
My favorite concert experience was seeing SEVENTEEN, a K-pop boy group in Chicago when I was 16 or 17. I remember being so nervous when trying to secure tickets online to finally seeing them in person with my friend. They were so talented and so fun to watch. They are also my favorite group, so finally seeing them in person felt so rewarding. A close second is seeing Mitski at Mission Creek Festival my freshman year, which was what made me want to join SCOPE.
Hobbies / Interests / Fun Facts / Campus Involvement
I really got into baking and cooking during quarantine and this past year. It has become a valuable source of self-care for me. I also have gotten really into playing video games. I usually only watched my family members play video games as a source of entertainment, too anxious to lose in a game, but this year, I overcame that and got really into playing RPGs.
Music has always been a love of mine, and not just listening to it. I come from a family of musicians and I grew up playing violin and saxophone. I have studied singing classically since I was 14, and I have continued to do so through the voice program here at the university. I have been working on recording music projects with friends since freshman year, and I hope to get better at making my own contemporary music!
I also work as a Programming Assistant at the Pride House (Pride Alliance Center), which is a part of MISSE (Multicultural International Student Support and Engagement), and I am the PR Director of FSA (Filipino Student Association.)
