Hello! I’m Sarena Gibson and I am currently a general committee member of SCOPE. This is my first year in the org, and I couldn’t be any happier that I chose to apply. I hope everyone enjoys exploring my music taste!

Favorite Concert Experience:

My favorite concert experience thus far was definitely Maggie Rogers at Hinterland Music Festival. She had such a palpable passion for music and performing, and it created a great energy within the crowd. I think this was the first time I had seen an artist who very clearly loved what they did and put all their energy into performing, and it really made for the best concert experience.

Hobbies/Interests/Fun Facts/Campus Involvement:

Along with my passion for all things music and SCOPE related, I love creating and anything artistic. I’m definitely the friend that will bring you little handmade gifts all the time. I also enjoy a variety of things like reading, cooking, and yoga.

The Deep Cuts:

Lately, I’ve been super into shoegaze-y type stuff and anything with a good funky synth involved. My dad also heavily influenced my music taste growing up, always showing me Cat Stevens and Don McLean albums. So, I’d say I’m definitely into a lot of 70’s music as well. But, I pretty much vibe with anything!

My playlist is a combination of some of my all time favorites and stuff I’ve been listening to more recently. I’d suggest listening to it on shuffle, you’ll never know what you’re going to get. I hope this playlist introduces you to some new music and allows you to get to know me a little better! Enjoy
